Children from age 2 through attendance in Kindergarten may attend Trettin Drop In Preschool.
A registration packet must be filled out before your child may attend Trettin. The packet includes a medical authorization form, health history, immunization records and parent contact information. You can download the registration packet here: Registration Packet
A non-refundable $40 registration fee, per family, is due by the second visit.

First Visit
Visiting hours and tours are limited to Mondays at 3pm, or by appointment. Please email to schedule a personal tour if Monday afternoons don't work for you. We have additional staff available so we can spend time meeting with you, showing you the classroom, and you can fill out your registration packet while your child is playing. If this time does not work for you, please contact us to set up another time to meet you and your child. Parking is available in the parking lot across 16th street. Please refer to the parking information on our Contact Us page for more detailed information.

Reservations are available. Payment of one hour must be made ahead of time. No refunds are given for cancelled reservations.

To make reservations for your child, you must have a punch card on file or pay for one hour in advance.
Want to schedule for an entire month? Sign up for our monthly pass program: reserve your spot for an entire month and receive 10% off. Speak to a teacher at your next visit to learn more.
Due to the busy nature of our school, we request that reservations be made by 3pm the prior business day. We prefer that you reserve by email, as it can be difficult to answer the phone during the day. We will send an email response to confirm whether or not your request can be met. After 3pm, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to return your message until the next business day. We also cannot guarantee that there will be a spot available for your child the next day. Please email to make your reservation, specifying the date and times that you would like your child to attend.

Snacks and Lunch Time
We provide snack in the morning and afternoon. If your child has an allergy, please let us know. None of our snacks contain nuts. If you would prefer your child eat something from home you are welcome to bring it. Lunch time is from 12:15 - 12:45pm. Please provide a finger-food lunch. It's okay to have nuts and nut butter for lunch. Be sure to put your child's lunch box in the correct bin - marked Nuts or No Nuts - when your child arrives at school. If needed, a lunch time snack may be provided for your child by making a notation on the sign in sheet. The cost for lunch is equivalent to half an hour of care. Check our menu to find out what's being served.

We DO accept children in diapers. Parents must provide disposable diapers or "pull-up" disposable training pants. Sorry, we are not equipped to handle cloth diapers. Please leave these in a labeled bag on the coat hook in the hallway with your child's coat and/or extra clothing. We use Kirkland brand wipes from Costco for diaper changes, unless your child has an allergy/preference.

Discipline Policy
There are times when a child may become angry, in an inappropriate manner, and need time and assistance to learn how to handle the situation.
  • If a child is hitting, they are told to stop. We suggest that they use their words to communicate their anger (we help with words if necessary), and try to arrange a solution.
  • If a child is biting, we tend to the injured child first, and then walk the child who is biting to a quiet corner to discuss their need to let us know when they need help with a situation. All adults are there to help.
  • If a child is kicking, biting and hitting in an out of control manner, they are walked or carried to another room, or the hall, until they regain control and an alternative solution is agreed upon.
If your child is sick, please do not send them to school. If a child becomes sick while in attendance, the parent or designated contact person will be called on to pick up the child immediately. The Keep Me Home If... document provided by Seattle & King County Public Health is your key for whether or not your child should stay home.

Medical Emergency and Medication

We will refer to the information on the daily sign in sheet and your registration forms. Please keep these up to date with your emergency contact phone numbers. Please administer medications before or after preschool if possible. Parents must fill out a Medical Authorization Form, available at the check-in desk, for any medication given during preschool attendance. If your child has an allergy, an Allergy Packet must be filled out and kept on file.
