Is Trettin Drop In Preschool religious? No, Trettin is secular. This means not religious. We are located in the University Congregational United Church of Christ. Trettin was created by Mrs. Edith Trettin, a visionary leader in child care who believed that care on an hourly basis would be most affordable for young families. She began her center in donated space at UCUCC in 1968. No other such model existed and even today there are very few. Countless numbers of families in the community have attended Trettin Drop In Preschool over the last 40 years. The preschool today is provided with space, financial support and scholarships from the UCUCC, which considers providing quality childcare to be part of their mission to the community. We are governed by the UCUCC Child Care Programs board, which also governs The Child Learning and Care Center, located upstairs. |
