Welcome to Trettin Drop In Preschool!
Programs will reopen April 6th for essential workers' families only. We will post more information as the situation develops.
Please watch this space for more information from our programs.
Good Afternoon Families,
Thank you all for your patience and understanding during this difficult, confusing, and stressful time. Each day more and more establishments are being closed and we are being encouraged to keep our physical distance from others to help slow the spread of this virus.
After considerable thought and weighing options of what to do for our programs at this time, we have made the difficult decision to CLOSE the programs until April 1, 2020 at a minimum (subject to change based on how circumstances evolve).
While children are at a significantly lower risk of getting COVID-19, not all of our teachers are in that category. Some staff have family at home that they must protect, as well as themselves. While being in the facility is a fairly safe and clean environment, that does not protect those who must use public transportation to get to and from the facility.
We want to keep all our children and staff safe and healthy during this time.
I am formulating a list of teachers and other local adults (from outside of the school programs) that may be able and willing to babysit for those who must continue to work and cannot do so without child care. If you or someone you know is struggling with finding care for your child at this time due to school closures please let me know and I will see if I can connect you with someone who may be available.
For prepaid tuition: tuition when we reopen (tentatively April 1, 2020) will be prorated by 2 weeks to make up for this closure.
We are starting with a two week minimum closure so that we can be sure all our staff are healthy before returning to work. 14 days is currently longest incubation period listed for COVID-19. This will allow staff to monitor their health more closely. At this time there have been no confirmed cases within our programs. This is a precautionary measure, as anyone with even mild symptoms are being told to stay home and monitor for up to 14 days.
We will keep you updated via email as things change. Please don't hesitate to reach out.
Again, if you must work and do not have back-up care options please let me know so that I can connect you with an available adult.
Thank you all for your understanding! Hope you are all able to stay healthy and that we can be together again soon!
If your child left items at the center last week that you would like to pick up (blankets, water bottles, etc.) please let me know and I can make arrangements for those to be picked up this week.
